David Hundley is the founding member of the HUNDLEY LAW GROUP, where his practice is devoted to complex personal injury and medical malpractice litigation before the trial and appellate courts in Chicago. 
While Mr. Hundley remains an active trial lawyer serving his individual clients, he formed the Hundley Law Group in 2008 to provide appellate counsel and complex litigation support to his colleagues in the trial bar. In 2008 and 2009, Mr. Hundley was named a “Rising Star” in the area of appellate litigation by Super Lawyers magazine.
David is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law, spending one academic semester studying law at University College Dublin in Ireland. In 2009, David joined the Dean’s Advisory Counsel at DePaul University College of Law.
Mr. Hundley holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Cincinnati, where he was recognized as 1995’s outstanding male graduate (“Mr. Bearcat”), an award given by the university each year to one male graduate who, in additional to showing a dedication to scholarship, has shown exceptional leadership and service to the university’s student organizations and programs.
Mr. Hundley began his legal career at the City of Chicago’s Department of Law, where he represented the city in police-related civil rights cases in state and federal courts even before graduating from law school, pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 711. After passing the bar, he continued his service to the city as an Assistant Corporation Counsel, prosecuting cases in nearly all of the misdemeanor branch courts and before the Mayor’s [Liquor] License Commission. He was chosen to be part of a small team of lawyers to train the Chicago Police Department in the use of a recently-passed gang loitering ordinance. Mr. Hundley then returned to litigating police-related civil rights cases before eventually entering private practice with Curcio Law Offices in 2002, where he was named a partner in 2007.
Mr. Hundley won his first jury trial on behalf on an injured plaintiff barely a month after entering private practice, securing a verdict of nearly half a million dollars. 
Since then he has continued his success as a trial lawyer, including several seven-figure verdicts and settlements. In additional to his skills as a trial advocate, however, Mr. Hundley developed an exceptional ability as a legal writer, often preserving his clients’ rights to fair compensation after complex motion practice and oral argument in the trial courts as well as before the Illinois Appellate Court.
Aside from serving his clients, Mr. Hundley is an active member of several local and national bar associations, serving on a number of committees that promote a fair, high-quality legal system in Illinois. David’s primary interest outside the legal profession is international cinema and filmmaking. When he finds time between family and career commitments, he contributes film reviews to a web site he established, cinemamishmash.com, and has occasionally contributed articles to print publications. David is a member of the Advisory Board for the Gene Siskel Film Center.
Last, but certainly not least, David and his wife Maggie spend every available moment with their wonderful son, born in 2008.
